Fried chicken – Ovok

Fried chicken - Ovok
Mashed potatoes with mushroom bacon pan sauce, steamed broccoli, extra side of gravy. $13.95
Ovok, San Francisco CA

This was kinda gross. Everything was just so heavy and greasy. I mean, look at the side of gravy! There’s a thick layer of fat just floating on top. The mashed potatoes were really dense clunky and even the broccoli was greasy. The fried chicken tasted good, but it was also pretty greasy. Yuck. You certainly get a lot of food though! Too bad you really don’t want to eat most of it.

Madison Bumgarner sandwich – Ike’s Place

Madison Bumgarner sandwich - Ike's Place
Thinly sliced ribeye, Ike’s yellow bbq sauce, light habanero salsa, pepper jack cheese, American cheese, banana peppers, pickles, and onions on French bread. $12.21
Ike’s Place, San Francisco CA

I usually love sandwiches that are stuffed with A LOT of meat (because I’m a pig), but I can honestly say that I still like Ike’s sandwiches that overdo the meat filling. It’s actually a nice balance of protein, bread, veggies, and sauces. Ok, maybe they overdo the sauces but that’s just how I like it! πŸ™‚

Garganelli – Perbacco

Garganelli - Perbacco
“Little wind pipes”, Liberty Farm duck ragu, foie gras, quince agrodolce. $21
Perbacco, San Francisco CA

Omg, this plate of pasta was delicious! I guess you can’t go wrong with pasta at Perbacco (although my friend did not enjoy his risotto). The garganelli were cooked perfectly and they were really fun to eat. Between the duck ragu and foie gras, the sauce was particularly wonderful. Noms!

Salumi misti – Perbacco

Came here with some friends and had to suggest that they try this charcuterie plate. I loved it the first time I had it, and they really enjoyed it too. Perbacco certainly knows how to make delicious salumi!

Pesce crudo – Perbacco

Pesce crudo - Perbacco
Hamachi, blood orange, charred fennel, pickled huckleberry, sea beans. $17
Perbacco, San Francisco CA

This dish was fine, but I feel like the hamachi was the most boring part of the dish. It seemed kind of dead and really didn’t pop out even though it was supposed to be the star of this dish. The fish was fresh enough and it didn’t taste bad, but it was all mangled and flavorless.
