Rosemary pizza – Pizzetta 211

Rosemary pizza - Pizzetta 211
Fiore sardo cheese, pine nut. $13
Pizzetta 211, San Francisco CA

This was a new combination of ingredients on a pizza for me, and I enjoyed it. It was a simple and delicious pizza. I liked the thin and slightly chewy crust too and the flavor combinations were great.

Sicilian pizza – California Pizza Kitchen

Sicilian pizza - California Pizza Kitchen
Spicy marinara, Italian sausage, capicola ham, salami, mozzarella, parmesan, basil and oregano on thin crust. $15.59
California Pizza Kitchen, San Francisco CA

This pizza was ok. I liked that it was thin crust, but I felt like the pizza was a bit dry. The meats were very thinly sliced so they dried out fairly quickly.

Wow, I was surprised by the amount of cheese you got with this reasonably priced cheeseboard. I forget what they were, but they were delicious, especially the silky blue cheese. Noms!

This was at the end of a day of birthday drinking with friends so I really can’t speak to the food so much, lol! I think it was good though… 🙂

Fig glazed pork belly – Boxing Room

Fig glazed pork belly - Boxing Room
Corn puree, caramelized figs, pickled watermelon rinds. $15
Boxing Room, San Francisco CA

I liked the flavors in the dish, and the pork belly was tasty BUT it was way too fatty! The pieces of pork belly were pretty much slabs of fat with very little meat on them. I think this is the first time that I couldn’t finish pork belly. I just left the huge chunks of fat on the plate.

Sycamore chicken and waffles – The Sycamore

Sycamore chicken and waffles
Belgian-style waffle filled with prosciutto and manchego cheese, topped with fried chicken drizzled with maple syrup/Makers Mark, blueberry, strawberry. $10.75
The Sycamore, San Francisco CA

This dish read much more exciting than it actually was. The chicken was actually chicken nuggets and each piece of waffle was actually just a quarter piece. The waffle itself wasn’t very Belgian-style either. It didn’t have the right texture and airiness. The whiskey maple syrup was also too sweet for my taste. I was disappointed.
