Mutton shoulder mince Punjabi curry with red chilli, fenugreek leaf, and garam masala. Thali served with rice, butter naan, dhokla, snacks, dal of the day, shorba, raita, pickle, chutney, and a dessert. Railway Thali £14.95
The Chilli Pickle, Brighton ENGLAND
OMG, this was SO much food, and it was really delicious (and a great value)! The lamb curry was frickin’ amazing too – rich and dark, and super flavorful. I liked most of the accompaniments (especially the daal of the day), but the two creamy ones had a weird texture for me. If I had known that the thali had so much food, I wouldn’t have ordered appetizers. Noms!

Butter naan.

Brioche, bacon, avocado, tomato, baby kale casesar salad, pecorino dressing, served with BD frites. $25
Barndiva, Healdsburg CA
I guess I liked this sandwich enough, but I thought there was too little crab. Also, this wasn’t what I was expecting as a brioche. It was too dense and not buttery enough. Sadly to say, this was probably the worst thing I’ve had at Barndiva. That just goes to show that everything is usually SO good and now I have high expectations.

Brighton Blue double baked soufflé wrapped in pickle powder butter parchment, loaded with charmer cheese cream, garlic oil and thyme baked Jerusalem artichokes. Served with salt toffee apple tattie pave pie, sage and onion, scrumpy beet brew neeps, pink krout and toasted buckwheat hazel oat cob crunch. £15.95
Terre a Terre, Brighton ENGLAND
I thought the concept of this dish was super cute, but I think there was just too much going on to really appreciate all the different components. The individual parts were delicious on their own, but the dish as a whole didn’t work for me. 😦

Roasted and braised chicken, chorizo, cauliflower, padron pepper, tomato. $38
Bellota, San Francisco CA
Wow! This paella was frickin’ amazing! The chicken was perfect, the rice was wonderful, and all the toppings were delicious. And it was beautiful to look at too! I could eat this every day. Noms!

Served with potato chips. €4.20
Store Cafe, Barcelona SPAIN
Meh, this was kinda basic. It tasted fine, but it just looked really plain and boring. I thought that they would at least used better bread.

Cured goat cheese with rosemary, served with pan con tomate. €8.90
Mikkeller Bar, Barcelona SPAIN
This was SO much cheese! 🙂 The cheese was great, but I actually loved the tomato bread even more! They grilled a nice hearty bread and had the perfect amount of tomato on top.

$2.95
Popsons Burgers, San Francisco CA
Mmm, these french fries were great! They were kinda on the salty side, but I’m such a salt monster that I didn’t mind. I liked that they were piping hot, and kinda limp – just how I like them!

Croquetitas de jamon y pollo. €5.90
Saffron, Barcelona SPAIN
These mini croquettes were so fun to eat, and tasty! I love the crispy exterior and the warm, soft interior. I could just pop these into my mouth all night long, lol!

House ground filet burger, avocado, buttermilk dressing, bacon, toasted brioche, served with BD frites. $20
Barndiva, Healdsburg CA
Mmm, I loved this burger. The patty was juicy and succulent, and had a nice sear on the outside. It just felt substantial and decadent. I also really like their fries. They’re thick and you get a great potato flavor.

Fried poppadoms with signature chutneys, pickles and onion salad. £4.60
The Chilli Pickle, Brighton ENGLAND
These chutneys were so good! They all tasted different and I loved the variety. I’ve never tried these kinds of chutneys before. I also appreciated that the poppadom came flat and rolled.

Grass-fed beef with oyster escabeche, harissa, benne. $15
Bellota, San Francisco CA
I liked the cruda, but not the oyster. I thought it was a weird addition to this dish. The beef tasted great though with a wonderful texture.
