With whipped cream. $5.50
Chile Pies, San Francisco CA
This was really tasty and I felt less guilty eating it because it didn’t have all that pie crust, and I believe it was even gluten free! And who can resist freshly whipped cream?! Noms!
A New Mexican classic made with housemade corn tortillas, cheese, ground beef, smothered in Christmas sauce (red and green chile sauce), topped with crema, pinto beans, rice and side salad. $13
Chile Pies, San Francisco CA
Last time I was at Chile Pies, I was a little disappointed but this enchilada was fantastic. The ingredients were great and the different chile sauces they used were delicious! It’s a good amount of food so you won’t leave hungry.
Homemade pie served with green chile gravy, vegetables, cheddar crust, side salad. $8
Chile Pies, San Francisco CA
Hmm, this wasn’t as good as I remembered. Last time I had the red chile pot pie and while the filling was certainly more flavorful, it was the cheddar crust that had the most impact. The cheddar crust was thick and hearty and kept all the juices inside the pie. This time around, I’m not sure there was even any cheddar on the crust. It was thinner and even soggy on the inside. Definitely not what I wanted to find. 😦
New Mexican stew served with side salad and corn bread. Cup $5
Chile Pies, San Francisco CA
Mmm, this soup is very tasty and has lots of bold flavors. I just wish it was served more hot. It was on the luke warm side which was kinda lame. I love their cornbread though!

Wow, this was super rich and super tasty! The cheddar crust was perfect and the filling tasted simply amazing. Why haven’t I come here before? I will definitley return.

Ground beef, pinto beans, red chile, lettuce, pico de gallo, cheese and crema served in a Frito bag! $8
Chile Pies, San Francisco CA
This is an upscale version of the delicious white-trash staple, but I think it missed the mark. There was so much lettuce and pico de gallo on top that you couldn’t really get into the “meat” of the dish which is the Fritos, beef and beans. Perhaps some things are better left unaltered…
