Spicy pork rice bowl – HRD Coffee Shop

Spicy pork rice bowl - HRD Coffee Shop
Brown rice, kimchee, daikon, cucumbers, and wasabi apple coleslaw. $9.25
HRD Coffee Shop, San Francisco CA

This was great! It tasted great and had so many different flavors and textures. The pork was tender and I really liked the wasabi apple slaw. I wish this place was closer to my office so I could go more often. 🙂

Garlic quail – Lers Ros Thai

Garlic quail - Lers Ros Thai
Fried quail with garlic, served with hot sauce. $10.95
Lers Ros Thai, San Francisco CA

This was lame! The quail was dry and hard and the sharp, brittle bones were really difficult to eat around. I don’t know how in the world this dish would ever make a “Must Eat” list! 7×7 was completely wrong with this one!

Carrot cake – Farallon

Carrot cake - Farallon
Cream cheese icing, buttermilk ice cream, walnuts, fennel. $10
Farallon, San Francisco CA

This was probably the most moist carrot cake I’ve ever had, and that’s a good thing! I will say that with the cream cheese icing and the buttermilk ice cream, it got really heavy after a few bites. I think they could have kept this simpler and it would have been better.
