Curry tonkatsu – Wasabi Bistro

Curry tonkatsu - Wasabi Bistro
Fried pork cutlet with curry, vegetables and rice. With additional tempura side. $12
Wasabi Bistro, San Francisco CA

Japanese curries can be really rich and heavy, but this dish was nice and balanced. I liked the addition of the vegetables to help neutralize the richness of the curry sauce and fried pork. And you can’t say no to pickled daikons!

Tempura - Wasabi Bistro
Fried shrimp and assorted vegetables.

Gyro platter – Ayola

Gyro platter - Ayola
Gyros meat with hummus, tzatziki, and small Greek salad. Served with pita. $8.95
Ayola, San Francisco CA

This place doesn’t serve the best greek food in San Francisco, but I like them anyway. They’re fast and they give you a lot of food. They’re food is actually pretty good too and I love their hot sauce. Just know that their olives still have pits so don’t bite down too hard.

Fritto misto – Pesce

Fritto misto - Pesce
Calamari, shrimp, fennel, green beans, zucchini, marinara. $14
Pesce, San Francisco CA

Mmm, I love fritto mistos! Who doesn’t love a plate of battered and deep fried seafood and vegetables?! I thought the marinara sauce was a little lame, but I’m not gonna complain too much. 🙂
