Chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate, strawberry and pineapple sauces, whipped cream, nuts and cherry on a whole banana. $9.29
Leatherby’s Family Creamery, Sacramento CA
I heard good things about this place from friends who grew up in the area. The sundaes and treats are gigantic, but honestly I wasn’t impressed. The ice cream didn’t taste special and the toppings, although there was plenty of them, were generic and common. Good for Leatherby’s to keep the soda fountain alive, but I think that I’ll splurge on my sweet calories elsewhere. The service was young and lacking, and the experience was mundane and uneventful. I felt no joy during my visit which is unfortunate because that’s exactly was an old-school soda fountain should evoke. Kinda sad.

Project 365: Day 58
Yay, flying to Columbus Ohio to celebrate Codes’ birthday. I have mixed feelings at this point because I should really stay home, save money, and not eat and drink so much this close to the cruise but Codes is one of my best friends so I’m also glad to fly out to celebrate with him. I have an early flight so I land in Columbus around 4:30pm. It’ll be great seeing him family and “eclectic” group of friends, hehe!

Gotta love the freebies at Nopalito! Every meal begins and ends with some yummy free treats.
Nopalito, San Francisco
These seasoned, deep fried chickpeas are frickin’ addictive. They’re salty and dry which makes them perfect to eat with some beer or sangria! I wonder if they’d give me more if I asked? A great way to jump-start your meal.
And when your check arrives, it’s accompanied with these delicious cookies which I think are “polvorones”. They’re crumbly, nutty and sweet. I would have guessed that they’re made with almonds but I’ve read that the Mexican variety is usually made with pecans. Regardless, they’re nommy!
With nuts and coconut. $2.75
Koffi, Palm Springs
I know you can’t tell from the photo, but this is a monster cookie. There’s no way I could have finished this cookie by myself, nor would I have wanted to (since I do have bouts of health conciousness, hehe). So I made David eat it with me, of course. It was delicious!
Iced coffee. Summers in Palm Springs are definitely hot so iced coffees are a must!
