Sesame pancake with marinated beef – Kingdom of Dumpling

Sesame pancake with marinated beef - Kingdom of Dumpling
2 pieces $5.95
Kingdom of Dumpling, San Francisco CA

We weren’t sure what we were gonna get when we ordered this. I kind of imagine that it would the kind of pancake that you get with moo shu pork or something. Instead, these were really thin dry, almost cracker-like, pancakes filled with strip of beef. They were actually really good!

Fried gator – Boxing Room

Fried gator - Boxing Room
Creole remoulade, lemon. $13
Boxing Room, San Francisco CA

I thought maybe the alligator would be tough and dry, but it really wasn’t. The breading was delicious and it was fried perfectly. I’m not sure that I could really taste and describe the gator apart from the breading and frying oil, but the whole thing tasted great to me.

Kronnerburger with bone marrow – Kronner Burger

Kronnerburger with bone marrow - Kronner Burger
Cheddar mayo, lettuce, onion, pickle, roasted bone marrow. $11
Kronner Burger, San Francisco CA

This business actually sucks. They once had a storefront on Mission Street, but they would hold odd hours and wouldn’t open when they felt like it – SO annoying. I went there once and waited outside with 8 other people before we all realized that they probably weren’t going to open that day. I think that’s just a shady and disrespectful business practice.

Anyway I only bought this burger because I wanted to check it off my 7×7 list and they were at the Mission Street Food Festival. That said, the burger with bone marrow was pretty damn delicious.

Crispy boudin balls – Boxing Room

Crispy boudin balls - Boxing Room
Creole mustard aioli. $7
Boxing Room, San Francisco CA

These little balls were scrumptious and I liked the creole mustard dipping sauce. The boudin balls weren’t too dense but they were definitely rich. Here’s to a night of splurging at the expense of my arteries, lol!

Wow, these were amazing! They were super delicate and almost melted to the touch. The flavors were bold without being overly sweet, and they were absolutely gorgeous! Noms!

Pork and shrimp wonton soup – Kingdom of Dumpling

Pork and shrimp wonton soup - Kingdom of Dumpling

Pork and shrimp wonton soup - Kingdom of Dumpling
Mmm, this soup was delicious and they give plenty of it for less than six bucks! I like the large pieces of bok choy although they were difficult to cut and eat with chopsticks (I’m definitely not a professional). The broth and the filled wontons were very tasty.
