Afternoon snacks plate – Millennium Seoul Hilton

Afternoon snacks plate - Millennium Seoul Hilton
Bbq ribs, feta salad, almond chicken. Complimentary in Executive Lounge
Millennium Seoul Hilton, Seoul SOUTH KOREA

I feel like I’ve been eating constantly during this trip, so when the free snack came around at the hotel I really wasn’t that hungry. But I never run from a challenge so I decided to try a few things. The ribs were decent as was the feta salad. The almond chicken was gross though.

Guacamole and chips – Tacorgasmico

Guacamole and chips - Tacorgasmico
Made to order and served in a traditional mocajete. $6
Tacorgasmico, San Francisco CA

I’m not sure if they were out of mocajetes, but the guacamole was definitely served in a ramekin. Not a big deal, but don’t write something on your menu that you’re not going to do. This guacamole order was really small, even for six bucks. Lame. And I really doubt it was “made to order”.

Tomato basil bruschetta – Affinity Restaurant & Bar

Tomato basil bruschetta - Affinity Restaurant & Bar
Garlic rubbed crostini topped with fresh diced tomato and basil, drizzled with balsamic glaze. $10
Affinity Restaurant & Bar, San Jose CA

This was good. The ingredients were fresh and clean tasting, but the balsamic glaze would have been better actually drizzled on top instead of underneath.

Burrata and yellow peaches – Buckeye Roadhouse

Burrata and yellow peaches - Buckeye Roadhouse
Marcona almonds, watercress, amaranth. $12.95
Buckeye Roadhouse, Mill Valley CA

Mmm, this was yummy. I love burrata cheese and it tasted wonderfully paired with the grilled yellow peaches. It was rich and bright at the same time.

Heavenly Old-Fashioned cocktail - Buckeye Roadhouse
Heavenly Old-Fashioned: Angel’s Envy bourbon, bitters, sugar, gigantic ice cube. $12

Tortilla spring rolls – California Pizza Kitchen

Tortilla spring rolls - California Pizza Kitchen
Thai chicken, peanut sauce, bean sprouts, scallions, carrots, cilantro and mozzarella. Baja chicken, monterey jack and cheddar, corn, black beans, poblanos, red onions and cilantro, guacamole.
California Pizza Kitchen, San Francisco CA

These were gross. They were dry, small and definitely not worth the calories. The flavors were muddled and the peanut sauce tasted weird.
