Served with butter. $5
The Elite Cafe, San Francisco CA
These biscuits were warm and super flaky. They had a wonderful flavor, but I wish they had less of the baking powder-y texture.

Ocean Beach.

Creek Stone Farm Black angus flank steak, fontina, roasted sweet onion, hot and sweet peppers. Served with Kettle chips and a pickle. $11.50
The Grove, San Francisco CA
I guess when I ordered this, I expected it to arrive more as a traditional cheesesteak sandwich rather than a panini. It’s not really what I wanted, but it tasted ok. I thought it was on the dry side and the batard was hard.

Clarion Alley, Mission.

With blue cheese dressing. 12 pieces $10.95
Escape From New York Pizza, San Francisco CA
I love chicken wings, but these weren’t the best. They were too wet and limp. I prefer them when they fried crispier then tossed in sauce. These did not live up to my wing standards.

Dancing Sprites statue, Huntington Park.

Beef tongue, malbec braise, chayote picadillo, salsa verde. $21
Lolinda, San Francisco CA
Lengua tastes SO good! I love it’s dark, rich flavor and the chayote was a nice and different accompaniment. More, please! 🙂

Rose of malbec, Belasco de Baquedano, NV Argentina. $13

Soboro (ginger-honey braised ground beef), unagi (broiled fresh water eel with sweet bbq sauce), and salmon (grilled Scottish salmon with shio koji sauce). Organic mixed greens, edamame, pickles. $10.11
Onigilly, San Francisco CA
I liked the fillings of this rice bowl, but it just wasn’t enough food to fill me up for lunch especially for costing more than ten bucks. It was mostly rice and salad. I thought the unagi and soboro tasted great though.

Graffiti mural, 24th Street Bart Station.

Quail egg, buttermilk, grilled bread, watermelon radish. $13
The Elite Cafe, San Francisco CA
Hmm, this was interesting. I liked the smokey flavor of the tartare and the buttermilk was a nice new combination, but I’m not sure I liked the combination of the textures. The raw beef with the raw quail egg combined with the cold thick/wet texture of the buttermilk sauce didn’t sit well with me.

Fort Funston.

Fresh ground Niman Ranch beef patties cooked medium well, a little pink inside when served with American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and secret sauce on a toasted egg bun. $10.99
Gott’s Roadside, San Francisco CA
Mmm, this was delicious, but perhaps a regular cheeseburger (1 patty) would have done it for me. This ate really easily, but it was like a brick in my stomach. I didn’t look THAT big but it certainly filled me up, literally! 🙂

Bernal Heights Park.

Grilled radicchio, sherry vinaigrette. $14
Trou Normand, San Francisco CA
Wow, this sandwich was SO tasty! The pork was juicy and delicious and the grilled radicchio really surprised me. It added a nice smokey flavor and crunchy texture to this luscious sandwich. NOMS!

Dolores Park.

Wood-fire grilled crosscut beef short ribs. $17
Lolinda, San Francisco CA
Mmm, this beef had a really nice grilled flavor, but it was bit tough and difficult to eat. There really wasn’t that much meat to them either. I liked the aji sauce that came with it though.

Giant squid graffiti mural, Market.

Marinated pork with rice, kimchee and salad. $7.35
The Store on the Corner, San Francisco CA
I liked the flavor of the spicy pork, but not its texture. There was too much of the spices and they were dried and congealed. I think it would have been more successful if it was more saucy or at least if there was less of the dried spices. The kimchi was great though! I could have done without the random salad too.

Dolores Park Improvement Project.

100% natural free range chicken, lettuce, tomato, chipotle aioli on ciabatta bread, cheese. $7.25
Super Duper Burgers, San Francisco CA
I usually don’t enjoy chicken sandwiches because the chicken tend to be dry and tough, but this was an exception. The chicken was tender and juicy and very flavorful. That’s why I love me some Super Duper!

Pickles. Complimentary

Avocado, caramelized onions, sauteed mushrooms, tomato with garlic fries. $15
The Pink Elephant, San Francisco CA
This burger was very large and it rocked! The beef patty was juicy and flavorful and those garlic fries were killer! The burger got even bigger when you added the avocado and peppers placed on the side.

Don Quixote, War Memorial Opera House.
