French fries and spicy slaw, bbq sauce. $19
Eureka Restaurant & Lounge, San Francisco CA
Ugh, a disappointment. These ribs were dry and kind of bland. The fries were great though, but the slaw was surprisingly flat.

Lime creme fraiche, pickled peppers. $8.50
Restaurant Lulu, San Francisco CA
Haha! This was a frickin’ joke! I thought this was literally a joke when they brought this out. It’s the smallest little button fritters I’ve ever seen and they bring it out with oversized serving utensils to make them look even smaller! The slivers of pickled peppers were larger than these sad fried lumps. #FAIL

Carrot cake, chocolate cake, coffee ice cream with strawberries, apple pie, cheesecake. Seafood buffet $24.99
Oasis Buffet, Palm Springs CA
Meh, another plate of sub par desserts. Nothing was especially good or tasty. I did like the ice cream and fruit the most though.

Tender pork ribs, premium pork, bbq pork. $10.75
Ajisen Ramen, San Francisco CA
Omg, this was SO salty! I liked the flavors I guess, but it was very difficult to taste much of anything past the salt. The meat was also dry. I definitely wouldn’t order this again.

With lime aioli. $9
Eureka Restaurant & Lounge, San Francisco CA
These were gross. They were hard, dry, and totally over-fried. There was absolutely no skill or care in the making of these.

Cookies, cakes, puddings, apple crumble. Seafood buffet $24.99
Oasis Buffet, Palm Springs CA
Ugh, these were kinda gross and a waste. I don’t know why I even try the desserts at buffets because they’re invariably pretty bad.

Stir-fried drunken noodles with ground pork, rice noodles, garlic, Birds Eye chili, onions, bell peppers, holy basil. $18
Kin Khao, San Francisco CA
Wow, these noodles were SO delicious! I loved all the greens on top. Besides the basil, I’m not sure what the other herbs were, but there were so interesting and tasty. This was probably some of the best Thai food I’ve had in a long time, and the price was indicative of the quality. I would order this again, but prolly not very often because of the price.

7×7 Magazine’s Big Eat SF: 100 Things to Try Before You Die

$8
Eureka Restaurant & Lounge, San Francisco CA
These plump mushrooms were good, but definitely on the salty side. I think if should have been priced less too.

Spit-roasted beef and lamb, hummus, Greek salad, tzatziki, and pita. $8.15
Locali Mediterranean, San Francisco CA
The gyro meat was pretty tender and flavorful. I with there was little more of it, but I enjoyed this plate overall. Their hummus is super light and creamy which was a nice change.

Prime rib, roast turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, osso buco, macaroni and cheese, creamed spinach. Seafood buffet $24.99
Oasis Buffet, Palm Springs CA
Another plate of warm, fattening food. It wasn’t very good but I did like the cheesy and mac and cheese.

Mozzarella, thyme. $18.50
Restaurant Lulu, San Francisco CA
This pizza tasted great. It was earthy, warm and melty. Yum! The thyme was the perfect herb to combine with the wild mushrooms.

St. Germain Cocktail: St. Germain, prosecco, club soda. Happy hour $6
This was cocktail was very bland and disappointing.

Happy hour $1 each
Eureka Restaurant & Lounge, San Francisco CA
The texture was REALLY off on these oysters. They were definitely not fresh. Ugh! In all honesty these oysters tasted like crap which sucked because we ordered a dozen. I don’t know how old they were but they should NOT have served them!

Eureka Manhattan: Bulleit bourbon, Cinzano red, and Angostura bitters. Happy hour $7
