Breakfast buffet – Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing Hotel

Breakfast buffet - Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing Hotel
Shrimp dumplings, Shangahi soup dumplings, sausage, bacon, Shanghai dumplings, tomato, potato puff. Complimentary in Executive Lounge
Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing Hotel, Beijing CHINA

Final breakfast in Beijing. After a few days, I got kinda bored with the selection at the Executive Lounge, but I still appreciated that it was complimentary. 🙂

Combination platter – Opolo Vineyards

Combination platter - Opolo Vineyards
Full assortment of cured meats and artisanal cheeses served with warm focaccia, pickled vegetables and organic Opolo walnuts. $28
Opolo Vineyards, Paso Robles CA

This charcuterie and cheese board was wonderful and worked great with their wines at Opolo. It was very relaxing to sit on their patio and sip wine and have a midday snack.

Happy hour buffet – Tonga Room

Happy hour buffet - Tonga Room
Chicken wings, fried rice. Happy hour buffet $10
Tonga Room, San Francisco CA

This food was marginal, even for a happy hour buffet. I guess you can get away with this when you’re a San Francisco institution. I will never do this happy hour buffet again though. I would rather spend the money on an extra drink.

Happy hour buffet - Tonga Room
Chicken wings, egg rolls, chow mein.

Grilled pork and crispy imperial rolls – 77 Chinese & Vietnamese Cuisine

Grilled pork and crispy imperial rolls - 77 Chinese & Vietnamese Cuisine
Crispy imperial rolls filled with crab meat, shrimp, pork and silver noodles, served with rice vermicelli, fish sauce, fresh herbs and roasted peanuts. $9.75
77 Chinese & Vietnamese Cuisine, San Francisco CA

This was ok. The pork was dry and salty. Actually, even the imperial rolls were pretty salty even without the fish sauce. Don’t think I’ll be returning to this place for lunch. 😦

Afternoon snacks – Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing Hotel

Afternoon snacks - Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing Hotel
Mortadella, salami, lox, assorted cheese, olives, capers, artichoke. Complimentary in Executive Lounge
Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing Hotel, Beijing CHINA

I’m a little sad that I ate so much at the Executive Lounge instead of exploring more of the local restaurants, but it was also nice not to spend so much on food and drinks. I really need to win the lottery so I don’t have to make these lame decisions, lol! 🙂

Dumplings - Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing Hotel
Dumplings. These were actually pretty good!

Lox sandwich – Hilton Seattle Airport

Lox sandwich - Hilton Seattle Airport
Cured salmon, scrambled eggs, red onions, tomatoes, Swiss cheese, bagel. $5.95
Hilton Seattle Airport, SeaTac WA

This sandwich was on the dry side, but it was free so I can complain too much. I liked that you got to choose items from their coffee shop for complimentary breakfast items.

Jim Bean manhattan - Hilton Seattle Airport
Jim Bean manhattan. Don’t worry, I didn’t have this for breakfast, lol! I grabbed this at the hotel bar the night before. 🙂

“Superlean” roast duck – Da Dong Roast Duck Restaurant

Superlean roast duck - Da Dong Roast Duck Restaurant
Â¥268
Da Dong Roast Duck Restaurant, Beijing CHINA

Omg, this duck was amazing especially the skin! It was so juicy and flavorful, and they slice it tableside and serve all parts of the duck. We also got the condiments so had a nice variety of toppings and sauces to wrap our roast duck with. A visit to Da Dong for their roast duck is a definite must when visiting Beijing!
