Guinness glazed bacon burger – Bennigan’s

Guinness glazed bacon burger - Bennigan's
Guinness stout glaze, bacon, cheddar cheese, crispy fried onions, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle. Served with homestyle fries. $14
Bennigan’s, Santa Clara CA

This burger was large, messy, and pretty tasty! I enjoyed the Guinness stout glazed and was happy that it came with an extra side of it. I thought the fried onions were too greasy and soggy, but they tasted decent enough. The thick cut fries were also yummy. I thought the patty was overcooked though and it was on the dry side.

Chicken tikka masala – Cello Kebob & Pizza

Chicken tikka masala - Cello Kebob & Pizza
Chicken breast in masala sauce, served with basmati rice. $9
Cello Kebob & Pizza, San Francisco CA

I thought this tasted good, but there really wasn’t much chicken at all. Such a disappointment. I would have preferred getting thigh meat if they would serve a larger portion of it. I liked the slight spice in the masala sauce though.

Katsu-done rice bowl – Osho Japanese Cuisine

Katsu-done rice bowl - Osho Japanese Cuisine
Topped with steamed vegetables and nori. $9.20
Osho Japanese Cuisine, San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

This tasted fine (although on the salty side), but there just wasn’t enough food to satisfy me. The bowl is fairly small and there was enough pork to make for a decent meal. Even the 3 pieces of vegetables looked sad.

Pepperoni slice – Escape From New York Pizza

Pepperoni slice - Escape From New York Pizza
Sprinkled with additional parmesan, oregano and red pepper flakes. $4.14
Escape From New York Pizza, San Francisco CA

I love a good slice of pepperoni pizza. It’s simple, classic and usually delicious. I liked the one from Escape only when it’s fresh from the oven. Thank goodness they had just put this one out on display. Yay!

Prosciutto and mozzarella panini – Boxed Foods Company

Prosciutto and mozzarella panini - Boxed Foods Company
Prosciutto americano, fresh mozzarella, lemon zest, arugula, citrus-garlic aioli. Served with side salad. $11
Boxed Foods Company, San Francisco CA

This sandwich was pretty tasty! It was filled with plenty of prosciutto and mozzarella, and the arugula was a great addition. The exterior was also wonderfully buttery and grilled. Noms!

Chicken teriyaki – Sarku Japan

Chicken teriyaki - Sarku Japan
With mixed vegetables and steamed rice. $6.59
Sarku Japan, San Francisco CA

I thought this was a pretty good lunch option, especially at the price. I think they had just opened, because the guy working the grill didn’t have much cooking yet so it took a while to get any of the food out. I thought the chicken was decent (not too salty from the teriyaki sauce). Next time I’ll ask for more veggies and less rice.

Combination platter – Opolo Vineyards

Combination platter - Opolo Vineyards
Full assortment of cured meats and artisanal cheeses served with warm focaccia, pickled vegetables and organic Opolo walnuts. $28
Opolo Vineyards, Paso Robles CA

This charcuterie and cheese board was wonderful and worked great with their wines at Opolo. It was very relaxing to sit on their patio and sip wine and have a midday snack.

Grilled pork and crispy imperial rolls – 77 Chinese & Vietnamese Cuisine

Grilled pork and crispy imperial rolls - 77 Chinese & Vietnamese Cuisine
Crispy imperial rolls filled with crab meat, shrimp, pork and silver noodles, served with rice vermicelli, fish sauce, fresh herbs and roasted peanuts. $9.75
77 Chinese & Vietnamese Cuisine, San Francisco CA

This was ok. The pork was dry and salty. Actually, even the imperial rolls were pretty salty even without the fish sauce. Don’t think I’ll be returning to this place for lunch. 😦
