Crazy Dave’s double dive-in cheeseburger – Garaje

Crazy Dave's double dive-in cheeseburger - Garaje
Served with French fries. $15
Garaje, San Francisco CA

This burger tasted ok, but the beef patties were dry and overcooked. They really set you up for failure to eat this decently sized burger though. The burger is crammed with lettuce and two patties that don’t want to stay still, but they loosely wrap it in a small piece of paper as if they think that’s sufficient to keep everything together. This was a mess to eat (and not in a good way) which frankly became quickly tiresome. There is no joy or pleasure in eating a pile of disintegrated burger garbage. #foodfail

Chicken adobo burrito – Papalote Mexican Grill

Chicken adobo burrito - Papalote Mexican Grill
Chicken thighs, garlic fried rice, tomatoes, flour tortilla. $8.75
Papalote Mexican Grill, San Francisco CA

This is one of the best Mexican-Filipino fusion food items I’ve tried thus far. I loved that they used chicken thighs instead of breast to keep it more authentic. It’s packed with flavor and the burrito and pretty big. Mmm…

Beyond ramen – Orenchi Beyond

Beyond ramen - Orenchi Beyond
Tonkotsu based soup, pork belly, egg, green onion, bamboo shoot, sesame, dried seaweed, fried garlic, mizuna.
Orenchi Beyond, San Francisco CA

Omg, this bowl of ramen may have been on the small side, but it certainly was delicious! Maybe it was due to the fattier-than-normal tonkotsu broth or the fattier-than-normal cut of pork belly, but I couldn’t stop eating it! A definite must-try.

Fried chicken sandwich – Drums & Crumbs

Fried chicken sandwich - Drums & Crumbs
Boneless fried chicken breast topped with dill pickle coleslaw on a Dutch crunch roll. Served with spicy black eyed peas. Combo $11.95
Drums & Crumbs, San Francisco CA

Ugh, the bun was cold and untoasted so it really sucked! It was also dry and just kept crumbling and breaking apart when eating. The chicken was a bit dry, but I liked the flavor of the dill pickle slaw.

Special combo 5 – Tokyo Express

Special combo 5 - Tokyo Express
Nigiri sushi, Tokyo Tower roll, and Spicy Tuna roll. $15
Tokyo Express, San Francisco CA

The nigiri was disgusting! The fish was not fresh and the sushi rice was grossly sour. They should really automatically provide you with wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce to disguise the low quality of their raw fish and to help you actually eat it. Gross! The sushi rice in the rolls was also very dry. This was a horrible lunch especially since it’s over priced for what you get. #fail
