Wild boar lettuce cups – M.Y. China

Wild boar lettuce cups - M.Y. China
Red pepper, scallions, crispy noodles. $9
M.Y. China, San Francisco CA

Oh dear god, why did we come back here?! These lettuce cups were just sad and boring. It was like a typical beef stir fry thrown on some lettuce with some fried rice paper shred tossed in. The service was just as shitty this time around, the food was marginal and over-priced, and my old fashioned tasted like a disgusting piece of sweet-ass candy (and you know how much I love my bourbon drinks)! It was murky and off-color and tasted like crap. I seriously hate this place.

Old Fashioned cocktail - M.Y. China

Truffle frittes – Salty’s on Alki Beach

Truffle frittes - Salty's on Alki Beach
Shoestring fries tossed with truffle salt and parmesan reggiano. $4
Salty’s on Alki Beach, Seattle WA

These fries were actually pretty good, but it didn’t make up for the horrible hostess experience. I can forgive a lot, but not ridiculous customer services especially from a restaurant that poses as higher-end. No thank you!

Moscow Mule: American Harvest vodka, lime, mint, and ginger beer. $10

Fire cracker prawns – Salty’s on Alki Beach

Fire cracker prawns - Salty's on Alki Beach
Ugh, this place is frickin’ ridiculous! Salty’s is one of those annoying restaurants that, besides their waterfront location, everyone wonders why it remains open. And now I can add my two cents. I had an absolutely terrible experience at Salty’s and the food is definitely overpriced for what it is.

First off, the hostess was a mess and SO unprofessional! She was an older woman, and perhaps she needs to get another job because she definitely can’t perform this one very well. The younger male host/seater was a little more professional but I couldn’t get the sour taste of my first impression out of my mouth.

The service was nice, but definitely off on timing. I sat outside, but there really isn’t a view of anything on that lame deck. This place is gross and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. What a waste of my time…

Flatbread - Salty's on Alki Beach

Pear-ginger martini - Salty's on Alki Beach

Potato fonduta pizza – Stoneburner

Potato fonduta pizza - Stoneburner
Walla Walla onion, basil, green onion. Happy hour $10
Stoneburner, Seattle WA

Wow, this cheese was very different and unexpected, and very yummy! The thin slices of potatoes were perfect with the creamy fonduta and I love the wonderful crust. Noms!

Sour Cherry Phosphate - Stoneburner
Sour Cherry Phosphate: sour cherry syrup, acid phosphate, seltzer. $3

Picasso Fizz cocktail - Stoneburner
Picasso Fizz: vodka, raspberry gum, lemon, suze, sparkling wine. $8

Mijita margarita – Mijita

Mijita margarita - Mijita
Ranchero tequila, agave nectar, lime juice. $8
Mijita, San Francisco CA

These margaritas were kind of expensive especially since they were so small. I guess you can charge that amount when you’re attached to a baseball stadium which I think is pretty lame. They were good, but the place is also packed and super noisy so it’s not an enjoyable environment.

Smoked salmon smorrebrod – Fog City

Smoked salmon smorrebrod - Fog City
Danish open-faced sandwich on sourdough rye seed bread, smoked egg salad, Will’s avocado, pickled peppers, fresh herbs. $17
Fog City, San Francisco CA

Wow, I loved everything about this sandwich. It was beautiful and absolutely delicious and fun to eat. The combination of flavors and textures was great, and it was fun to eat. I liked the dark, dense bread and the smoked salmon was tasty and beautifully colored. Noms!

Derby cocktail - Fog City
Derby: Four Roses bourbon, carpano antica, combier, lime, maple. $11
