I loved this place! It was fun, hip, and the food was delicious. And the snacks during happy hour were super cheap! These freshly fried shrimp chips were hot and SO flavorful. They really didn’t need the Thai dip to add any more flavor. The dip was definitely salty, but I guess that’s intentional to get guests to drink more.

Ugh, these buns sucked! The pork belly was dry and so were the steamed buns. I liked the flavors but I felt like these could’ve been frozen and just reheated. Definitely not worth sixteen bucks.

Wow, this was actually really hot! I was surprised because most lunch places, especially in the Union Square area, play it safe with the heat. The pork had a lemongrass flavor, but it wasn’t juicy as it could have been. I love hot and spicy, but I think they may have overdone it with this one. You really couldn’t taste much of anything else.
Chicken dumpling: ground chicken, organic tofu, water chestnuts and shiitake mushrooms in a sweet chili sauce.
Carrot and ginger soup: organic carrots, ginger, and onions pureed with chicken broth.
Asparagus salad: organic asparagus from Zuckerman’s farm and organic shredded carrots with a traditional creamy sesame dressing.

The food at Delica is pretty good and they use quality ingredients, often organic, but I felt like everything was just a little overpriced. This lunch combo did not fill me up at all and I was probably more hungry after eating this snack. It looks like a decent amount of food, but the portions are fairly small and unfulfilling. So the verdict is that the food is tasty, but don’t expect to get much of it.
