Happy hour in the Castro and really get you “happy”, lol! The drinks are strong and they’re super cheap so drink responsibly. 🙂

Vodka, soda, splash of cranberry juice. Happy hour $3
Mission Bar, San Francisco CA
This joint is definitely a dive bar with pretty interested characters drinking at the bar. The bartender was friendly enough, but I don’t think it’s my kinda dive bar.

Pickled onion, cucumber. $10
ABV, San Francisco CA
This was one pretty good burger. It was definitely on the small side (almost slider-sized), but the patty was delicious and I loved the small, soft bun. This burger was simple and delicious!

Fogerty: rye, campari, cacao, orange bitters. $11

Happy hour $5
Mr. Smith’s, San Francisco CA
There aren’t a lot of decent restaurants or bars near the Orpheum Theatre, so Mr. Smith’s is a great place to go for a nice drink before seeing a show.

Sonoma Coast State Park.

A tall cooler designed in the late 1930s by Don The Beachcomber to showcase fine aged Haitian rhum, along with lime, pineapple, falernum, Angostura bitters, and a dash of grenadine. $11
Smuggler’s Cove, San Francisco CA
Mmm, another delicious drink from Smugglers. The bartenders here are pretty amazing since every drink seems to have a gazillion ingredients and they appear to make everything from memory.

“Holding it down” urban art, Soma.

Jackalope: JP Wiser’s rye whiskey, cherry heering, benedictine angostura bitters, lemon peel. $10
Jackalope, San Francisco CA
This was a really fun, chill bar with great drinks. There was only one bartender when our group arrived so the drinks were a little slow coming. Then we started playing Plinko and it was all a blur from there, lol!

Old Scratch: Maker’s Mark whiskey, sugar, angostura bitters, orange bitters, orange. $10

Plinko game winnings, lol!

Dr. Pepper and chipotle braised pork, pickled onion and cabbage slaw. Served with French fries. $13
Hi Tops, San Francisco CA
This sandwich was nice and big and I liked the red cabbage slaw. The pulled pork tasted really good, and the fries were hot and crispy.

Hi Tops can get packed!

$6
Park Lane Lounge, San Jose CA
We were trying to kill time before meeting friends nearby so we ducked into Park Lane for a drink. I was NOT impressed. This drink was poorly made and the service, while very friendly, was definitely preoccupied with chatting with the regulars. Not a good way to build new business.

Hat sculpture, downtown.

Sweet ‘n hot, apricot jalapeno, authentic buffalo. Six for $7.59
Wingmasters Sports Bar, Seattle WA
Came here to watch some college football with my brother. It’s his neighborhood bar and it’s a really fun with friendly staff. The patrons can sometimes be random to me, but everyone seems to be pretty cool (even the Cougar fans, lol).

Volleyball at Green Lake Park.

Cheese, lettuce, served with pico de gallo and sour cream. $9
Penn Social, Washington DC
This was a pretty small portion, but the pulled pork tasted really good! It had a sweetness to it that I enjoyed. The bar patrons were on the younger side and it definitely had a college party atmosphere.

Beer. Happy hour $5

Gochujang, daikon radish, sweet herbs, kimchi. $14
POV, Washington DC
These were lame. I liked the kimchi topping but the roasted chicken was SO dry. These lettuce wraps fell flat.

Potomac River, Mount Vernon VA.

Kecap Manis, mint, cilantro, radish, B&B pickles. $16
POV, Washington DC
Ugh, these buns sucked! The pork belly was dry and so were the steamed buns. I liked the flavors but I felt like these could’ve been frozen and just reheated. Definitely not worth sixteen bucks.

Charles De Fere, Blanc de Blancs. $12

Washington Monument.
