National dish of England. $16
Rasika, Washington DC
Mmm, this dish was delicious! I loved the deep, rich flavor of this chicken tikka masala. It was well developed and very flavorful. The chunks of chicken were also tender and tasty. Noms!

Maryland State House.

Tomato sauce, homemade fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, parmesana regino. $3.99
Wiseguy NY Pizza, Washington DC
Meh, I was not impressed by this pizza. And I personally wouldn’t classify it was New York style pizza. The crust was too thick and doughy! They reheated the slice, but it was still somehow lukewarm and the toppings congealed. Lame…

Apartment 2g, Front Royal VA
This was a yummy salad but it took way too long for it to come out (an ongoing theme throughout the evening). I would only recommend this place is you have 4 hours to kill. Seriously…

Focaccia and olive oil. Complimentary

Bow Wow tasting option.
Barrel Oak Winery, Delaplane VA
This was a very laid back and fun winery. There were lots of people just lounging and picnicking on the grounds. Although I wasn’t overly impressed by their wines, I did appreciate that they had a good variety of wines that were distinct in flavor profiles. And the guy who poured for us was super friendly.

Bucket of baby back ribs, spiced avocado, mayonnaise. Happy hour $9
B Too, Washington DC
I think these tasted great. Perhaps they were a little dry, but slathered with some of the avocado spread they were pretty darn tasty!

Government House, Annapolis MD.

Fresh mango, cashew nut, ginger, mint chutney. $10
Rasika, Washington DC
The shrimp tasted great, but I wish they were cooked a little less. They were a bit dry and hard. The mint chutney was great along with the diced beets.

Pork ribs, mehkong whiskey, dill. Tasting menu $45
Little Serow, Washington DC
Mmm, what a great way to end an amazing meal! These pork ribs were bursting with flavor and super tender. I’ll definitely come back for another meal at Little Serow.

Jackfruit with custard.

Balsamic vinegar, almond, cheese, thyme. Prix fixe $50
Apartment 2g, Front Royal VA
This should have been very charming and homey dinner, but the service was SO slow that I just couldn’t enjoy myself. I loved the concept of eating in a converted apartment while the husband and wife chef duo cooks lovely dishes for you, but this dinner was painfully long. The time between dishes was unbearable. By the end, I was still hungry because I was able to fully digest between courses.
This opening bite was a little clunky. It was literally a dressed up dried apricot! I think it tasted good, but I thought that it was an odd item. I mean, I could do this…

Zardetto Prosecco Doc Treviso Brut, Italy. $8

Bluemont Vineyard, Bluemont VA
I don’t want to come off as a California wine snob, but I was not impressed by the wines in the northern Virginia region. Some of them were drinkable, but overall it lacked the complexity and depth that I’ve had from California wines.

Mini smoked salmon waffles, wasabi yogurt dip. Happy hour $11
B Too, Washington DC
When I came here, I didn’t know that the chef was Bart from Top Chef until he came out of the kitchen to say Hello to some friends of his sitting near me. I was tempted to ask for a selfie, but I maintained my cool and refrained, lol!
These waffles were delicious! I loved their airy texture and the smoked salmon interior was yummy. It paired well with the wasabi yogurt sauce. Noms!

Cava. Happy hour $5

Annapolis City Dock.

Crispy baby spinach, sweet yogurt, tamarind, date chutney. $10
Rasika, Washington DC
This dish was fun to start! I’ve never had an entire plate of fried baby spinach before. It reminded me of the fried basil used for garnish on other dishes, but as a entire appetizer. I liked the flavors and textures of this dish, but after a while you realize that you’re eating an entire plate of fried spinach and the grease starts to accumulate. Not so fun at that point…
