Cheese and charcuterie board – Carpe Diem Wine Bar

Cheese and charcuterie board - Carpe Diem Wine Bar
Prosciutto, salame, brillat savarin and other cheeses, grilled bread, candied walnuts, cornichons, fruit compote and mustard. Happy hour $10
Carpe Diem Wine Bar, Napa CA

This wasn’t the fanciest charcuterie board I’ve ever had, but it was certainly delicious. And at ten bucks, it was a fantastic value. I loved the brillat savarin (one of my favorite cheeses) and the grilled bread and other accompaniments were yummy.

Pol Clement brut & Inkberry cabernet sauvignon - Carpe Diem Wine Bar
Pol Clement brut. Happy hour $6

Tomato basil bruschetta – Affinity Restaurant & Bar

Tomato basil bruschetta - Affinity Restaurant & Bar
Garlic rubbed crostini topped with fresh diced tomato and basil, drizzled with balsamic glaze. $10
Affinity Restaurant & Bar, San Jose CA

This was good. The ingredients were fresh and clean tasting, but the balsamic glaze would have been better actually drizzled on top instead of underneath.

Huevos rancheros – The Grille at Shadowrock

Huevos rancheros - The Grille at Shadowrock
Two over easy eggs, cheddar cheese, crisp corn tortillas, black beans, tomatillo salsa. $12
The Grille at Shadowrock, Sedona AZ

I really liked this breakfast item! It was presented a little bit differently as a stacked dish. It was fun to eat and the tomatillo salsa tasted great with the black beans and crispy tortillas. The eggs were also cooked nicely, still runny and perfect.
