Sliderbar in the Castro has since closed down. This location must be cursed because it’s been 3 or 4 different restaurants in the 14 years since I’ve lived in San Francisco. These sliders were good, but didn’t blow my mind. I do like their selection though.

Hard cider and beer - Sliderbar
Blackberry-pear hard cider, Crispin Cider Company. $5
Great White beer, Lost Coast Brewery. $5

Ahmok – Angkor Borei

Ahmok - Angkor Borei
Mild curry fish mousse served in a banana leaf basket. $10.95
Angkor Borei, San Francisco CA

I don’t think I’ve ever had a dish like this before. It had a very interesting, fluffy texture and it tasted great. The accompanying sauce was tart and salty, but pair nicely with the curry fish mousse.

Wow, this was some of the best larb that I’ve had in a long time. I normally don’t say this, but I actually liked that there were lots of greens and vegetables with this larb. It was SO bright, refreshing and delicious.
