Truffle frittes – Salty’s on Alki Beach

Truffle frittes - Salty's on Alki Beach
Shoestring fries tossed with truffle salt and parmesan reggiano. $4
Salty’s on Alki Beach, Seattle WA

These fries were actually pretty good, but it didn’t make up for the horrible hostess experience. I can forgive a lot, but not ridiculous customer services especially from a restaurant that poses as higher-end. No thank you!

Moscow Mule cocktail - Salty's on Alki Beach
Moscow Mule: American Harvest vodka, lime, mint, and ginger beer. $10

Salt cod croquettes – Mikkeller Bar

Salt cod croquettes - Mikkeller Bar
Remoulade, parsley, dill, lemon. $12
Mikkeller Bar, San Francisco CA

These croquettes were pretty delicious! You don’t find salt cod croquettes at most places so these were a treat. They were perfectly fried and the perfect with the remoulade. I definitely used all of the lemon to cut through its fried richness along with the dipping sauce. Noms!

Mikkeller Spontanfig beer - Mikkeller Bar
Mikkeller Spontanfig. Lambic-style with figs. $12
This bar is known for their sour beers, and this one was very good. It’s good to try new and different things. 🙂

Mandarin chicken breast salad – Working Girls’ Cafe

Mandarin chicken breast salad - Working Girls' Cafe
Mixed greens, chicken breast, red onion, red bell pepper, snow peas, mushrooms, mandarin oranges, peanuts, crispy noodles topped with sesame seeds and tossed in homemade oriental dressing. $9.75
Working Girls’ Cafe, San Francisco CA

I liked all the ingredients in this salad, but it was surprisingly unfulfilling flavor-wise and volume-wise. Perhaps, I’ll just never get into eating salads as entrees, even for lunch. I did ask for the dressing on the side and I also picked out the crispy noodles. Perhaps if I had it with the full fat content, I would have been more content.
