Wok seared beef – M.Y. China

Wok seared beef - M.Y. China
Sichuan peppercorns, arugula. $18
M.Y. China, San Francisco CA

This was our waitress’ suggestion, probably because it was one of the more expensive options. Well, it was horrible! The beef was SO frickin’ dry and bland. The sauce was pretty much seared onto the beef and made it really hard to chew and eat. And serving this gross, dry beef over a sad pile of arugula was another lame choice by this lame restaurant. The beef was only luke warm so there wasn’t even enough heat to wilt the arugula so everything just stayed dry.

Brioche bread pudding – Tartine Bakery

Brioche bread pudding - Tartine Bakery
Huckleberry and nectarine. Bowl $7
Tartine Bakery, San Francisco CA

This pic doesn’t make the bread pudding look very sexy, but it was delicious! The bakery experience, on the other hand was painful. I didn’t mind the line because that’s just normal, but then when I get to the register, that’s when they inform me that their credit card reader is down and are only taking cash. Lame! They could have at least informed everyone before we ordered our food! Ugh, fail.
