Dirty Ernie sandwich - Ike's Place
All beef meatballs, red pesto, ranch, provolone, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, banana peppers, jalapenos, and dirty sauce on Dutch crunch roll. $12.21
Ike’s Place, San Francisco CA

Mmm, this was good. The meatballs were tasty and they weren’t hard or crumbly. They actually ate really easy. The combination of sauces is what totally made this sandwich though!

Vietnamese ham sandwich – Out The Door

Vietnamese ham sandwich - Out The Door
Ham, chicken liver mousse, English cucumber, pickled carrots, cilantro and jalapeno. $11
Out The Door, San Francisco CA

Ugh, the roll was really hard and kept cutting the roof of my mouth! The filling was nice and spicy though from the jalapenos and I loved the chicken liver mousse. I just wish it wasn’t so painful to eat, ouch!

Munsoned sandwich – Deli Board

Munsoned sandwich - Deli Board
Brisket, white American cheese, pepperoncini blend, 1000 Island dressing, board sauce, brown mustard, sweet French roll. $15
Deli Board, San Francisco CA

Mmm, Deli Board sandwiches frickin’ rock! I wish they were located closer to where I work because I would go more often. Even though the sandwiches are prices higher than normal, they’re pretty sizable so it makes up for the added cost. They’re specialty sandwiches constantly change so you’ll never get bored of trying new combinations.

The #1 Italian combo – Lucca Delicatessen

The #1 Italian combo - Lucca Delicatessen
Salame, ham, mortadella, provolone, mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, mild Italian peppers on Acme rosemary roll. $9.99
Lucca Delicatessen, San Francisco CA

This sandwich was delicious! The quality of the deli meats was great and everything tasted great together. I had to wait to eat the sandwich so the roll was a bit soggy by the time I got down to business, but I didn’t mind. It actually made it easier to bite through, hehe. I also requested extra peppers because I’m a pig, hehe.

Fried chicken sandwich – Drums & Crumbs

Fried chicken sandwich - Drums & Crumbs
Boneless fried chicken breast topped with dill pickle coleslaw on a Dutch crunch roll. Served with spicy black eyed peas. Combo $11.95
Drums & Crumbs, San Francisco CA

Ugh, the bun was cold and untoasted so it really sucked! It was also dry and just kept crumbling and breaking apart when eating. The chicken was a bit dry, but I liked the flavor of the dill pickle slaw.

Reuben sandwich – 20th Century Cafe

Reuben sandwich - 20th Century Cafe
Pete’s pastrami, sauerkraut, comté, Russian dressing. $12
20th Century Cafe, San Francisco CA

The pickled vegetables were Great! Omg, the toasted seeded rye bread was SO buttery! Don’t get me wrong, it was delicious but it was dripping down my hands and coating my lips with butter. The red cabbage was nice and tart and the pastrami was flavorful. This was definitely a yummy, caloric splurge for lunch.

Fish sandwich – Bongo Johnny’s

Fish sandwich - Bongo Johnny's
Two pieces of crispy battered cod filet on a buttered grilled bun, with tartar sauce, lettuce, and tomato. Substitute for gorgonzola fries with Frank’s Red Hot sauce. $11.95
Bongo Johnny’s, Palm Springs CA

This sandwich was huge! I guess I didn’t pay attention when it said “two pieces” of fish, lol! Anyway, it tasty pretty good and it certainly was filling. I didn’t like their gourmet fries though. I didn’t realized that they were going to get covered with the hot sauce and gorgonzola, so they came out REALLY limp and unappetizing.

Banh mi – Barndiva

Banh mi - Barndiva
House ground pork loin, shaved cucumber, pickled chili salad, aioli, toasted brioche. $16
Barndiva, Healdsburg CA

Omg, this banh mi sandwich was delicious! I loved all the Asian flavors and side salad of beets, radishes, and kumquats was out of this world. Their potato chips were also very good. They aren’t fried crisp so they are still pretty pliable. They tasted great though. NOMS!
