Chicken breast, beef, scallops, shrimp and mixed vegetables in an oyster-soy sauce. $26
Wang’s in the Desert, Palm Springs CA
This dish was decent, but way too expensive for what it was – a combination stir fry. I feel cheated for saying too much.

Sliced Angus beef, celery, green onions, carrots, wok fried in Szechuan sauce. $21
Wang’s in the Desert, Palm Springs CA
Another pretty salty dish from Wang’s. I liked the Szechuan sauce flavors, but it wasn’t spicy at all – not even a little bit.

Sliced Angus beef in a spicy oyster sauce. $18
Wang’s in the Desert, Palm Springs CA
The beef was pretty soft and tender. I liked the halved bok choy, but they sauce wasn’t spicy at all. I needed more heat!

Stir-fried with roasted peanuts, sweet bell peppers, white onions, dried chilies and caramelized soy sauce. $17
Wang’s in the Desert, Palm Springs CA
This was pretty tasty. I liked that the bell peppers were cut quite large and the sauce wasn’t too salty.

Sautéed shrimp, ground chicken, calamari, tofu, dried shrimp and onions, bean sprouts, and black mushrooms in a sweet black sot sauce, served over steamed flat noodles. $10
King of Thai Noodle House, San Francisco CA
Mmm, this was delicious! I loved all the proteins and the sauce was super tasty. This dish was definitely greasy but it certainly packed a lot of flavor!

Mild Italian sausage, onions, and marinara sauce with mozzarella and fontina cheeses. $12.75
Firewood Cafe, San Francisco CA
Ugh, I can’t ever deny a warm, bubbly, cheesy, saucy pasta dish. I feel like I need to hit the gym again just thinking about it. This was very home-y and yummy.

Caramelized fennel, tomatillo puree, cilantro. $14
The Partisan, Washington DC
I loved the flavor in this, but the belly was just SO fatty! It was probably 70% fat or more so it was just too fatty to eat very much.

Caramelized onion glaze, bok choy, carrots, lotus chips.
SLS Las Vegas Hotel, Las Vegas NV
I thought the caramelized onion glaze was delicious and the beef was tender enough. The vegetables were ok, but maybe a bit overcooked.

White grits, baby spinach, cucumber-feta salad, poblano-mint salsa verde. $26
Saltrock Southwest Kitchen, Sedona AZ
This was ok I guess, but the lamb shank was on the tough and chewy side. It would never make up for this horrible dining experience at Saltrock!

Creamy polenta, grilled garlic broccolini. $28
Tinderbox Kitchen, Flagstaff AZ
Mmm, this pork was delicious! I have to admit that it came out underdone so we had to send it back, but it was still SO tasty. The char was wonderful and the cider brine was yummy. Noms!

Serrano ham, artichokes, burrata, roasted tomato, coquille olives. $13
Mariposa, Sedona AZ
Mmm, I really liked this flat bread. The toppings were wonderful and a great combination for that matter (at least for my taste). The flat bread was thin, chewy and nicely cooked.

Poblanos, bacon lardons, manchego, scallions. $24
Tinderbox Kitchen, Flagstaff AZ
This risotto was delicious! It had a wonderful texture and yummy flavors. It was warm, creamy, and oh so comforting. Mmm…
