2 item combo – New Ming’s Restaurant

2 item combo - New Ming's Restaurant
Szechuan eggplant, cumin pork, and fried rice. $6.58
New Ming’s Restaurant, San Francisco CA

There’s something funky and odd about the cumin pork, but I actually kinda like it. It’s got an odd texture, but it tastes great and the pork remains tender. The eggplant is super greasy, but I love the Szechuan flavors. New Ming’s is one of my guilty lunchtime pleasures, hehe.

Venetian style fish and shellfish risotto – Foreign Cinema

Mmm, this was delicious! The seafood was cooked perfectly and the risotto had a great texture and flavor. Noms!

Lamb osso bucco – Leatherneck Steakhouse

Lamb osso bucco - Leatherneck Steakhouse
Moroccan spices, dried fruit, olives, and chick peas. $26
Leatherneck Steakhouse, San Francisco CA

This osso bucco was very tasty and super tender. I loved the Moroccan spices and the sauce was wonderful. I also liked the delicious mashed potatoes. I’m sure there was about a pound of butter in it, but the texture was great.

Fire cracker wok tossed longevity noodle – M.Y. China

Fire cracker wok tossed longevity noodle - M.Y. China
Wild seasonal mushrooms, sichuan pickled vegetables. Prosperity dinner $88
M.Y. China, San Francisco CA

Although this was SUPER greasy, it had a good flavor that I enjoyed. It would suck if you’re a vegetarian though because the menu description doesn’t mention bbq pork anywhere! What a surprise you would have received.

Good fortune seafood treasury – M.Y. China

Good fortune seafood treasury - M.Y. China
Shrimp, scallop, calamari with mixed greens and mushrooms. Prosperity dinner $88
M.Y. China, San Francisco CA

This was actually pretty good (surprising since I’ve hated almost everything I’ve had at M.Y. China). The seafood was good nicely (not overcooked) and the sauce was light and didn’t overpower the ingredients.

Pork al pastor nachos – Tacos Club

Pork al pastor nachos - Tacos Club
House-made corn chips covered with cheese, pork, jalapenos, sour cream, black beans, and salsa. $9.80
Tacos Club, San Francisco CA

I liked these nachos! The pork was very tasty and tender and the toppings were quality. The house made chips were also thick and strong enough to withstand holding all the toppings without breaking. They really need a salsa bar though!

Mandilli di seta al pesto Ligure de mandorle – Farina

Mandilli di seta al pesto Ligure de mandorle - Farina
Handmade handkerchief pasta with Genovese basil and almond pesto. $34
Farina, San Francisco CA

As much as I didn’t enjoy this restaurant, this pasta dish was really great. I loved the flavor of the pesto and the soft mandilli had a wonderful texture.

Oxtail poutine – Wayfare Tavern

Oxtail poutine - Wayfare Tavern
Hand cut potatoes, roasted vegetable gravy, mozzarella curd, fried kale. $16
Wayfare Tavern, San Francisco CA

Omg, this was really rich between the fries, gravy, cheese, oxtail, AND fried kale! It definitely filled me up for lunch and put me in a food coma back at my work desk, lol! It was delicious though.
