Another delicious and healthy dinner from DGF! The lamb was tender and flavorful and I really liked the lentils. The braised kale was also very tasty.

Charred fava leaf puree, tsukudani-onion crema, calabrian chile and faba bean bread salsa. $12
Pink Zebra, San Francisco CA
Ok, I’m a fan of interesting and new flavor combinations and ingredients, but this did not work for me. Both the fava leaf puree and onion crema tasted off and completely over-powered everything else on the plate. The beef tongue was also too salty. This was not a successful plate.

Asahi Black beer. $5

White beans, roasted potatoes, salad. $12.95
Darn Good Food, San Francisco CA
What a delicious and healthy dinner combination. The pork stew was packed with flavor and all the side tasted great. Noms!

Braised in California cabernet and herbs, garlic mashed potatoes, roasted root vegetables, pan sauce. $28
Mountain Room Restaurant, Yosemite National Park CA
This was good and I liked the Frenched shank bone. Yes, the meat could have been more tender though, but I liked the flavor and the mashed potatoes were nice and buttery.

Laurel Court Restaurant, San Francisco CA
Everything actually tasted great, but the white sauce tasted like beef jerky! GROSS!

Pitman Farms free-range duck, quinoa pilaf, market vegetables, mandarin orange gastrique. $28
Mountain Room Restaurant, Yosemite National Park CA
The duck tasted pretty good, but I wish the skin was a bit crispier. The sides – not so much. The vegetables and quinoa were really boring and I wish there was more of the orange gastrique to add the much needed moisture.

Fresh raspberries, gelatin. Prix fix $45
Laurel Court Restaurant, San Francisco CA
This tasted fine, but the panna cotta was way too firm for my liking. It took away all the pleasure from eating it.

Roasted garlic, cream cheese, sourdough crostini. $12
Mountain Room Restaurant, Yosemite National Park CA
Ok, this was sad. I felt like my lil nephew put this together and tried to be fancy. The dry pieces of sourdough were especially disappointing. The spread itself was lifeless and uninspired.

Gloria Ferrer, Blanc de Noirs. $10

Yosemite Falls.

$13
Laurel Court Restaurant, San Francisco CA
This was dry and hardly had any crab in it. Lame! I can’t believe they would make such a horrible version of mac ‘n cheese.

$10
Yosemite Lodge Food Court, Yosemite National Park CA
This was greasy, cheesy, and filling. Exactly what I needed after a full day of hiking and biking. Not the best quality, but I’ll take it!

Yosemite Valley.

Sweet onion, capers, brown butter. $18
Monsieur Benjamin, San Francisco CA
This dish was very tasty and comforting, but I’m not sold on the eighteen dollar price tags especially since it was pretty small. The sweetbreads were cooked perfectly though and the grenobloise preparation was delicious. I also thought that the presentation was simple and attractive.

5 oz cut with chimichurri sauce, fingerling potatoes. Prix fix $45
Laurel Court Restaurant, San Francisco CA
The beef was simply prepared and pretty good with the chimichurri sauce. The potatoes were boring and dry though.
