Smorrebrod trio – Bar Tartine

Smorrebrod trio - Bar Tartine
Open-faced sprouted rye bread sandwiches. Rainbow trout with green walnut, beet and rabe. Beef tartare with tonnato sauce and bottarga. Kale with sunflower tahini and yoghurt. $18
Bar Tartine, San Francisco CA

The rainbow trout smorrebrod was definitely my favorite! The beef tartare was definitely overpowered by all the bottarga shavings on top, and the kale tahini smorrebrod was kinda boring (definitely doesn’t deserve to be on a foodie list).

Smoked potatoes with black garlic – Bar Tartine

Smoked potatoes with black garlic - Bar Tartine
Herbs and flavored mayo. $9
Bar Tartine, San Francisco CA

Omg, these potatoes were frickin’ amazing! The black garlic sauce was to die for and combined with the smokey flavor of the potatoes – I’m dying. The mayo dip was also super delicious. We actually couldn’t finish all our food during brunch, but I made it a point to get the leftover potatoes packed to-go, lol!

Beef cheeseburger – The Pink Elephant

Beef cheeseburger - The Pink Elephant
Avocado, caramelized onions, sauteed mushrooms, tomato with garlic fries. $15
The Pink Elephant, San Francisco CA

This burger was very large and it rocked! The beef patty was juicy and flavorful and those garlic fries were killer! The burger got even bigger when you added the avocado and peppers placed on the side.

Sassy BLT – The Pink Elephant

Sassy BLT - The Pink Elephant
Sassy bacon, heirloom tomatoes, greens and avocado, with garlic fries. $15
The Pink Elephant, San Francisco CA

The sassy bacon was certainly sassy. Otherwise, this sandwich would have been on the ordinary side. I was actually surprised on their bread choice, but I though that it worked since it was still soft and not too hard and chewy. And their garlic fries rocked!

Mama’s fried chicken and cornbread waffle – Mama Knows

Mama's fried chicken and cornbread waffle - Mama Knows
Three pieces buttermilk brined crispy fried chicken, jalapeno-cheddar cornbread waffle topped with rosemary honey butter. $16
Mama Knows, San Francisco CA

The fried tasted good. It was greasy, but it had a nice flavor. I was excited for the waffle, but it didn’t deliver. I liked the ingredients, but it came out sad and limp.
