Biscuits and gravy – Local Kitchen

Biscuits and gravy - Local Kitchen
Cave aged cheddar biscuit, chorizo gravy, calibrian chile, scallion. $15
Local Kitchen, San Francisco CA

I love biscuits and gravy and I usually don’t complain how bad for you they are, but this versions was way too rich. Between the cheddar biscuit and chorizo gravy, you could really feel your arteries instantly clog up. I could barely eat one biscuit, and I can usually eat plenty. Boo!

Eggs over medium - Local Kitchen
Served with eggs over medium.

Bisou burger – Bisou

Bisou burger - Bisou
Choron sauce, butter lettuce, tomato, red onion, applewood bacon, morbier cheese. Served with French fries. $18
Bisou, San Francisco CA

This burger had really good flavors, but the patty was a little overdone. This restaurant is a madhouse during brunch so the service can easily get shoddy (and it did). This definitely wasn’t a relaxing brunch.

Cocktails – Hotel Albatross

Jungle Bird cocktail - Hotel Albatross
Jungle Bird: Campari, Blackstrap, pineapple, and lime. $10
Hotel Albatross, Seattle WA

All these cocktails were super fun and yummy. I love that this tiki bar has opened up in Ballard. It’s a nice addition to the variety of bars in the neighborhood.

Planters Punch cocktail - Hotel Albatross
Planters Punch: Don the Beachcomber’s blend of rums, fruits and island spices. $10

Missionary's Downfall cocktail - Hotel Albatross
Missionary’s Downfall: rum blended with mint, peach brandy and pineapple fruit. $9

Big Kahuna & Red and Gold Reuben – Sliderbar

Big Kahuna & Red and Gold Reuben - Sliderbar
All natural, grass-fed beef patty, honey-smoked bacon, Swiss cheese, grilled pineapple, caramelized onions, lemon mayo & roasted red peppers on an artisan white bun. $5.95
Slow-roasted corned beef brisket, sweet red pepper-sauerkraut, Swiss cheese & secret sauce on an artisan multigrain bun. $5.95
Sliderbar, San Francisco CA

Sliderbar in the Castro has since closed down. This location must be cursed because it’s been 3 or 4 different restaurants in the 14 years since I’ve lived in San Francisco. These sliders were good, but didn’t blow my mind. I do like their selection though.

Hard cider and beer - Sliderbar
Blackberry-pear hard cider, Crispin Cider Company. $5
Great White beer, Lost Coast Brewery. $5
