I love biscuits and gravy and I usually don’t complain how bad for you they are, but this versions was way too rich. Between the cheddar biscuit and chorizo gravy, you could really feel your arteries instantly clog up. I could barely eat one biscuit, and I can usually eat plenty. Boo!
Served with eggs over medium.
Choron sauce, butter lettuce, tomato, red onion, applewood bacon, morbier cheese. Served with French fries. $18

This burger had really good flavors, but the patty was a little overdone. This restaurant is a madhouse during brunch so the service can easily get shoddy (and it did). This definitely wasn’t a relaxing brunch.

These were good, but they were on the small side and not very meaty. I liked their buffalo sauce though and it’s a great happy hour price.

All these cocktails were super fun and yummy. I love that this tiki bar has opened up in Ballard. It’s a nice addition to the variety of bars in the neighborhood.

Missionary’s Downfall: rum blended with mint, peach brandy and pineapple fruit. $9

This sandwich was SO delicious! The pork meatballs were super tender and juicy. The roll was light and fluffy and the entire things was just packed with flavor. Noms!

These were pretty standard and lame, like the service. Our waiter was all over the place, but never really serviced out table. He was a mess! Doesn’t make for a nice brunch experience.

You know, I really don’t like Coriander very much. Their food tends to be too salty and kind of dry. Somehow the food just tastes and feels old, like it’s been sitting under the warmers for too long.

Sliderbar in the Castro has since closed down. This location must be cursed because it’s been 3 or 4 different restaurants in the 14 years since I’ve lived in San Francisco. These sliders were good, but didn’t blow my mind. I do like their selection though.

Indian-spiced turkey meatloaf with Peppadew peppers and arugula on toasted ciabatta. $9.95

The Indian spices in the meatloaf was unexpected, and it tasted great. The meatloaf that cut nice and thick and it was pretty moist. A great sandwich, indeed!

These mozzarella sticks were long and thin so the cheese inside was nice and oozy. They didn’t blow my mind but I can’t say no to fried cheese. 🙂
