Sauteed shrimp, lemon, garlic. Chef’s tasting $45
Tinto, Palm Springs CA
These shrimp were super juicy and tender and the sauce was wonderfully garlicky. Gambas are one of my favorite tapas and these were a tasty version.

Seasonal vegetarian bomba rice, tomato, chayote, fried squash blossom. Chef’s tasting $45
Tinto, Palm Springs CA
I liked the texture of the rice, but it was surprisingly on the bland side. The fried squash blossom was also cold and limp by the time this dish arrived at the table.

Serrano ham, pine nut escabeche. Chef’s tasting $45
Tinto, Palm Springs CA
These were good, solid even, but nothing very special. I liked the addition of the serrano ham to the brussels sprouts though for added flavor.

Spanish octopus, potatoes, paprika. Chef’s tasting $45
Tinto, Palm Springs CA
Octopus can easily get really hard and chewy, but these slices were very tender. They tasted great as did the potato medallions.

Tomato compote, La Peral crema. Chef’s tasting $45
Tinto, Palm Springs CA
Omg, these potatoes were SO delicious! They were super smoky and perfectly fried. The tomato compote was also tasty and worked perfectly with the potatoes.

I love olives! These were great, but I thought they could have been infused with a little more flavor.

Baby lettuces, shaved mahon cheese, Pedro Ximenez vinaigrette. Chef’s tasting $45
Tinto, Palm Springs CA
This salad was simple but tasty. The shaved mahon cheese and Spanish vinaigrette really made the difference.

Bread and olive oil.

House smoked marcona almonds. Chef’s tasting $45
Tinto, Palm Springs CA
These almonds were SO good! They were nice and smoky and so addictive. I could have eaten the entire bowl but had to save room for the rest of the tastings.

With pineapple criolla and house chimichurri. $10
Mariposa, Sedona AZ
Ten bucks is a great price for three small empanadas. They were yummy with the two sauces as was the chorizo and potato filling. Mmm…

Semi soft, hazelnut. Served with bread, grapes, membrillo. $5
Beso, San Francisco CA
I love blue cheese and this was delicious. It wasn’t as strong and pungent as some other blue cheeses, but it had a great flavor and texture. Noms!

Bernal Heights Hill Park.

Seared hangar steak, crispy brussels sprouts, arrope, hazelnut paprika vinaigrette. $19
Beso, San Francisco CA
This hangar steak was very tasty and perfectly cooked. It was tender and super flavorful. I thought the yummy dressing and leaves of brussels sprouts paired nicely with the succulent steak.

Happy hour $5

I love padron peppers! They’re even easy to make a home, but it’s so much easier to order them at a restaurant. Lol
