Carnitas and lengua tacos – Uno Dos Tacos

Carnitas and lengua tacos - Uno Dos Tacos
Slow roasted pork with roasted salsa. Braised beef tongue with tomatillo salsa. Served with side of black beans with queso fresco. Each $3.25
Uno Dos Tacos, San Francisco CA

These tacos were great (especially the lengua) and nicely priced. The meats were so flavorful and the corn tortillas were perfect. I also love the black beans that they come with. Noms!

Pollo enchiladas – The Little Chihuahua

Pollo enchiladas - The Little Chihuahua
Two enchiladas filled with grilled chicken, cheese, queso fresco, grilled onions and poblano peppers, served with black beans, Mexican rice and topped with red sauce, sour cream, chopped onions and cilantro. $10.75
The Little Chihuahua, San Francisco CA

These enchiladas were ok, but I had actually ordered them “for here” so it was annoying to sit at a table and eat out of a “to-go” container. I don’t understand right now…!

“Longhorn” Texas breakfast tacos – Luna Park

Longhorn Texas breakfast tacos - Luna Park
With eggs, potatoes, cheese, salsa and house made chorizo. $12.95
Luna Park, San Francisco CA

Meh, I wasn’t impressed with these tacos. They were as white and vanilla as they get. And although the tortillas were warm(ish), the tacos just seemed lackluster. Perhaps they could have been grilled or seared on the flattop or something to bump up the interest.

Enchiladas combo – Chevys Fresh Mex

Enchiladas combo - Chevys Fresh Mex
Salsa chicken with New Mexico red chile sauce, picadillo beef with meat sauce, served with black beans, rice, salad, and sweet corn tomalito. $11.79
Chevys Fresh Mex, San Francisco CA

Mmm, enchiladas are my favorite. These were ok, but the plate was large and filled me up (I actually didn’t finish and took the rest to-go). I do love their little sweet corn cakes though. I’m sure its all butter and oil, but that’s why they taste so good.

Strawberry lemonade - Chevys Fresh Mex
Strawberry lemonade. $2.99

Crispy chicken flautas – Chevys Fresh Mex

Crispy chicken flautas - Chevys Fresh Mex
With fire-roasted red peppers, grilled corn and cheese, lightly crisped in flour tortillas. Served with grilled pineapple salsa and jalapeno jelly. $8.99
Chevys Fresh Mex, San Francisco CA

Ok, I admit it! I went to Chevys for lunch – I’m SO ashamed. Not really, but this is another guilty pleasure of mine. Chevys is the most non-Mexican food you can probably get, but I still like the food every once in awhile. These flautas have a lot of flavor (meaning packed with salt and sugar) and I completely devoured them, lol!

Chips and salsa - Chevys Fresh Mex
Chips and salsa. Complimentary
Omg, I love these!

Assorted tacos – Tacolicious

Assorted tacos - Tacolicious
Fried pacific cod, shot-and-a-beer braised chicken, house-made chorizo and potatoes, salsa verde pork(?). $22.90
Tacolicious, San Francisco CA

These tacos were delicious, but our server was kind of a bitch! She seemed really bored and couldn’t be bothered with anything. Thank god we ordered a cocktail pitcher. I needed the alcohol to put up with our lame server, although it was super weak. Not a good visit overall.

Paloma cocktail - Tacolicious
Paloma: El Jimador blanco, grapefruit, elderflower. Pitcher $34

Chips and salsa - Tacolicious
Chips and salsa. Complimentary
