This bar was pretty chill when we arrived early after dinner on a Friday night. The bartenders were friendly and my cocktail was pretty tasty. The crowd was definitely on the young side (I’m old, haha) and cool.
Island Margarita: San Francisco’s famous Tommy’s Margarita. 100% agave tequila organic agave nectar, fresh lime juice. Happy hour $9

It’s really relaxing to come to the Tonga Room after work for happy hour. The atmosphere is fun and really makes you nostalgic for old time San Francisco. The drinks are pretty good and the happy hour prices make it worth it.
Singapore Sling: Tanqueray, cointreau, cherry heering. Fresh lemon and pineapple juices, Angostura bitters plus a Benedictine mist. Happy hour $9

This food was marginal, even for a happy hour buffet. I guess you can get away with this when you’re a San Francisco institution. I will never do this happy hour buffet again though. I would rather spend the money on an extra drink.

I’m kinda surprised that I like all the updated bar food at Lookout. These tenders were juicy and nicely fried, and I liked the interesting dipping sauce flavors.

Ugh, why is queso so delicious, but so horrible for you?! I don’t really care because I will eat this any day, lol! This wasn’t the best queso ever but it does the trick when you’re drinking. 🙂
Risotto arancini with beef and a NOLA twist served with remoulade. $8

The views from this bar are definitely breathtaking, but you certainly pay the price with the drinks. I guess it’s actually normal hotel drink prices, but it kind sucks that because the lounge is so spread out, it’s very difficult to get prompt service.

Came here after work for happy hour and had a blast! The Tonga Room is a historical bar in San Francisco and I finally made it after SO many years of living in this wonderful city. The service can be bit hard to get a hold of since the place was packed from the get-go, but the drinks were yummy and you can’t beat the cheesy tiki atmosphere. And they have random rainstorms for goodness sake!
Zombie: blend of three rums, fresh lemon, lime, pineapple and passion fruit juices plus Angostura bitters. Happy hour $9
Mai Tai: blend of rums from Trinidad and Jamaica, curacao, local handmade orgeat and fresh lime juice. Happy hour $9
