Warm deviled eggs – Marlowe

Warm deviled eggs - Marlowe
Aged provolone, pickled jalapeno and bacon. Each $2.50
Marlowe, San Francisco CA

These little bites were delicious, but actually not as good as the ones at their sister restaurant Park Tavern. They had a lot of flavor, but they weren’t as refined. They’re definitely better than most deviled eggs out there though!

Monastrell red wine - Marlowe
Monastrell, Juan Gil, Jumilla, Spain 2011. Carafe $22

Crispy chicken flautas – Chevys Fresh Mex

Crispy chicken flautas - Chevys Fresh Mex
With fire-roasted red peppers, grilled corn and cheese, lightly crisped in flour tortillas. Served with grilled pineapple salsa and jalapeno jelly. $8.99
Chevys Fresh Mex, San Francisco CA

Ok, I admit it! I went to Chevys for lunch – I’m SO ashamed. Not really, but this is another guilty pleasure of mine. Chevys is the most non-Mexican food you can probably get, but I still like the food every once in awhile. These flautas have a lot of flavor (meaning packed with salt and sugar) and I completely devoured them, lol!

Chips and salsa - Chevys Fresh Mex
Chips and salsa. Complimentary
Omg, I love these!

Alaskan halibut ala plancha – Boulevard

Alaskan halibut ala plancha - Boulevard
Squash blossom with erbette chard and sultanas, Lebanese semolina couscous with saffron and turmeric, roasted tomato almond honey. $35
Boulevard, San Francisco CA

I think the stars of this dish were the fried and stuffed squash blossom and semolina couscous! They were both so much fun to eat and absolutely delicious. The halibut was good too, but it was the other components that really shined. Noms!

Cucumber Gimlet cocktail - Boulevard
Cucumber Gimlet: Boodles gin, muddled cucumber, lime juice, simple syrup, served up. $14
