Two free range eggs, bacon, pork sausage, tomato, mushrooms and toast. Β£7.50
Cote, London ENGLAND
This was our first breakfast in London this time around and I was not impressed. My eggs were overdone; I asked for over-medium. Is that an American thing and that’s why I can’t get it properly cooked anywhere else? If I knew, I would just order my eggs scrambled or poached. I also haven’t gotten used to English bacon and the weird squishy sausages they have here. I really don’t want to sound like I’m complaining because the food was decent, but after having eaten in Paris for the previous days this was a bit lackluster. π
Wheat toast and butter.
Black Dog Campaign statue, Soho Square. Our hotel was in the West End so it was great to be near this quaint green space.
Yes those eggs were tortured π LOL
Looks like we’re on the same wavelength!
What the hell happened to those eggs??
Lol! They were tortured…
nom. nom. nom.
It’s all yours. lol
I immediately noticed the eggs were overdone, too! Still, looks good…
Oh, and by the way: I can’t get a properly done “Over Medium” anywhere! Well, at least, not for less than a $30 breakfast… I don’t think it’s an American thing; I think it’s a training thing. If a chef is in a higher-end establishment, there’s a higher probability that the food will be done as asked.
I bet you can make a pretty good over-medium egg.
Heh – sure can! Maybe if you’re stopping off at NYC on your way home we can find one of the few restaurants that does a decent egg in this town. π
That has me written all over it!! Can’t you see? π
Wow, you do get around a lot. It looks good, but doesn’t sound very good. Here in the states we do know how to fry an egg properly. And I agree, over easy or medium is much better than the over dry hard ones. They go better with cheese and slices of tomatos between 2 slices of toast. I much prefer mopping up the runny middle with the toast, and do prefer the sausages a bit crispier on the outside. But, having never visited England, I’m not sure what their food would taste like.
But it looks so damn good!
Looks were deceiving in this case. π¦
