Mejillones al vapor. €7.50
Bosque Palermo, Barcelona SPAIN
These mussels were dry and bland, so in other words, they really sucked (kinda like the service at Bosque Palermo). I guess you could say that this dish says it all…

Sorbet de citron avec cava. Menu of the day €16.50
El Rincon de Pepe, Sitges SPAIN
This was a refreshing finale to a wonderful lunchtime meal on the Sitges beachfront. It was light and airy, and perfect for the warm weather.

With duck foie gras and mustard vinaigrette. €9
Paco Meralgo, Barcelona SPAIN
Mmm, this dish was SO good! The veal was sliced paper thin and it was so tasty along with the shaved foie gras and nutty cheese. I could eat this for days!

Snails.
Bar el David del Ninot, Barcelona SPAIN
Sorry! I forgot to take a pic until after eating these, lol! I loved the flavor of these snails. They were slightly pungent, but the stewy sauce that they were in was delicious and rich enough to stand up to the snail flavor.

Scallops and morcilla sausage. Each €1.50
Taktika Berri, Barcelona SPAIN
I thought that the scallop was pretty small and dry, but the blood sausage was delicious! It was succulent and had a wonderful flavor. Mmm…

Bread with tomato. €1.50
Bosque Palermo, Barcelona SPAIN
This was gross. There was SO much tomato, and the bread wasn’t toasted well so that it became a soggy mess. Yuck! I guess the food matches the service – horrible.

Fresh grilled shrimp with olive oil and sea salt. €17
Pinotxo Bar, Barcelona SPAIN
These large shrimp were expensive, but they were so fresh and delicious! I had a field day sucking on the heads for all the yummy juices. Noms!!

With shrimp, mussels, and clams. Menu of the day €16.50
El Rincon de Pepe, Sitges SPAIN
This dish was great! I almost liked it more than their paella. Again, this shows just a small portion of the entire dish that came out for only one person. The noodles were thin and soft, but still were able to retain a lot of the sauce. And the seafood was great too.

Each €1.95
Paco Meralgo, Barcelona SPAIN
I thought that this menu item description was a bit racist with the “Obama” descriptor. I think it’s a bit silly that just because the croquettes are dark from squid ink, they add the name “Obama” to the menu. But regardless of that, these were very tasty. I loved the squid ink flavor and the texture of the croquettes. The aioli was also a great accompanying sauce.

Raw shrimp on the counter.

Chicken and vegetables. €8.50
Bar el David del Ninot, Barcelona SPAIN
Even better than this delicious paella was the service from David the owner of this restaurant at the Mercat del Ninot. I loved the rich saffron flavor of this paella and the texture of the al dente bomba rice.

Foie gras, sausage, and peppers. Each €1.50
Taktika Berri, Barcelona SPAIN
This was my first plate of the warm tapas at Taktika Berri and they were delicious! I loved the foie gras and the sausage! The chilies weren’t very warm but they also had great flavor.

€4.75
Bosque Palermo, Barcelona SPAIN
I love padron peppers so I’m kinda surprised that it took us a few days in Barcelona before we finally ordered some. These peppers were pretty good, but our servers was really rude and just a plain jerk. I don’t think we’ll return to this restaurant. Boo!
