Grilled chicken quarter with garlic rice and vegetables.
Holy Cow!, Manila PHILIPPINES
The chicken tasted fine, a little dry in some parts. But the yellow plate really bothered me for some reason. I thought it was an unfortunate color to serve food on especially with an ill-fitting cast iron plate on top.

War time flag of the Philippines, Malacanan Palace. During war (I don’t remember which one – it was a long tour), the Philippines swapped the positions of the red and blue sections of the flag, rarely done by any other country.
That plate bothers me, my friend.
Yeah, it’s pretty ugly with the food.
The food looks nice but I agree with you over the plate. It doesn’t go with the food at all. (Hard to imagine what it would go with…salad maybe.)
I guess Fiesta ware looks ok with Mexican food, but I still think a plain white plate is best for presenting food.
