Spicy sausage, kale and russet potatoes in creamy broth.
Olive Garden, Martinsburg WV
Why me?! I was dragged to Olive Garden by some co-workers who wanted to eat some “good” Italian food, lol! This soup was marginal. It was very salty and not very exciting.

Blue Moon draft beer. $4.99

Log cabin, Morven Park, Leesburg VA.
I ended up being taken there by my son and his gf for a birthday dinner…I think the food is pretty marginal and I was surprised at how expensive it all was! I’m not sure how they seem to be packed with people all the time!
It amazes me how different the views are on food around the country. I’ll eat anywhere, but not here anymore. I grew up in a small town where Olive Garden was viewed as a fine dining establishment, and it was great back then but I’ve since experienced better food and realize that it’s not very good by many standards.
So it begs the question = have we gotten more sophisticated or have they gotten worse, or both! 🙂
I’d say both. hehe
I worked for the OG as a bartender for almost a year — many things on the menu are salty and cheesy! I think that’s kind of their signature taste – starting with breadsticks slathered in liquid butter and drizzled in garlic salt, followed by offering cheese on EVERYTHING! My biggest recommendation is to try the seasonal Toasted Marshmallow martini – it’s the perfect dessert 😘
No offense, but that martini sounds absolutely horrible, lol! 🙂 I’m not a huge dessert fan so super sweet cocktails don’t usually do it for me. On the other hand, I will try anything once so maybe this will be a “sweet” surprise! I’ll search for it the next time I’m at an OG. 😉
No offense taken! 😘 if you’re not a sweets fan, try the Spiced Pear martini
I agree; I think though for millennials they love sugar in drinks and I’m not a fan. saw one bar making stuff out of cotton candy vodka; lol to each their own.
That is on Tina’s top ten list of where I don’t want to eat. Right under Applebees, Moes, Chipotle, Subway, McDonald’s, Burger King, lol…. Love that log cabin!
Ugh, I try not to eat at these places but I somehow find my way to all of them! I’m a mess, lol!
LOL–How dare they drag our Vittle Monster to Olive Garden?
Lol! Don’t they know who I am?! 🙂
I hope that is an orange and not a lemon!
Yeah, it’s an orange. I think most lighter beers get orange garnishes.
The put a lemon wedge cocktail style on the side of your beer?! Wowza.
It’s actually and orange slice. Lighter beers (like hefeweizens or hoegaardens) get orange garnishes. Don’t ask me why, lol!
Really? My husband is not impressed. Here you occasionally get a small lemon or lime wedge to shove down a Corona bottle neck, but that’s about it.
Yeah, I don’t think the orange slice makes a difference to the beer taste in my opinion. Limes with Coronas is standard, except they resorted to lemons when we had that lime shortage earlier this year. 🙂
its literally a gimmick. I think they are owned by coors and the person who created the beer did it to attract attention and be unique. I’m more of a traditionalist with Guinness, Bass, Harp, etc… so I’m not into some of these types of beers but its’ purely used as a talking point.
