Smoky split pea and ham soup – San Francisco Soup Company

Smoky split pea and ham soup - San Francisco Soup Company
Organic green split pea and ham soup with carrots, tomatoes, and hint of smoke from chipotle chiles. With whole wheat roll. Medium $5.75
San Francisco Soup Company, San Francisco CA

I’m not a huge soup person, but I like to mix it up for lunch and I really do love a good split pea soup. This version was ok. I liked the subtle smokiness of it, but I found it on the salty side.

Pork ribs – Ad Hoc

Pork ribs - Ad Hoc
Creamy polenta, quince mostarda. Pre fixe dinner $52 each (+ $16 supplemental for ribs)
Ad Hoc, Yountville CA

Yum, I really liked these ribs! They were packed with flavor and perfect with the quince and polenta. I wish the polenta was a little creamier but at least it was well seasoned. We were such pigs and totally had to add these ribs to the meal. 🙂

Patates braves – Contigo

Patates braves - Contigo
Crisp fried potatoes, aioli, tomato salsa brava. Tapas tasting menu
Contigo, San Francisco CA

For me, it’s all about the potato preparation and the tomato salsa brava when it comes to this dish. I’ve tried a whole lot of them through my travels, and I know what I like. This version was really delicious and I liked the rich flavor and thick consistency of their salsa. The potatoes were also nicely fried. Noms!
