With cabbage salad, rice, miso soup, Japanese pickle, and choice of special sauce. $19
Kimukatsu, Honolulu HI
This kimukatsu flavor was pretty good, but a little greasy again. I really enjoyed the dipping sauce and the Japanese pickles were delicious and totally assuaged my salt cravings. The miso soup also had strips of fried tofu in it which was tasty!

Have recently been impressed for the first time by Japanese pickles.and their many flavours. These look rather good.
These were saltier than most I’ve tried. I’m not sure what the dark things were, perhaps some type of fungus(?) but it was delicious!
Would the texture be somewhat like pressed duck?
Nope, it’s very similar to tonkatsu (fried pork cutlet), but lighter and easier to chew because the pork has already been sliced into layers.
I scrolled to a previous entry to see what kimukatsu is and holy crepes, does that sound good. It looks like that was a good meal for the price.
Yeah, it was definitely worth trying! 🙂
What is Garlic kimukatsu. I know by looking at it I would enjoy it.
Kimukatsu is 25 layers of thinly sliced pork cutlets, breaded and fried. They flavor it many ways. It’s delicious!
