Cherry tomato, aged balsamic vinegar, basil oil, served with crostoli (fried dough with sugar). Pre fixe menu
Mozzeria, San Francisco CA
Ugh, what a disappointment! I love burrata, but this version had none of the characteristics that make the cheese so lovely. I don’t know if they make this in-house, but it wasn’t very good. This burrata was hard and chewy like a plain mozzarella, not soft and super creamy as it should have been. You could cut through this sad disc and it would hold its form without oozing out onto the plate. This made me really sad! π¦

Primaterra Primitivo, house red wine.

Tall flatsedge (Cyperus eragrostis, Cyperaceae), Bon Tempe Lake.
Such a shame! The burrata looked wonderful, wish it had been better! π¦
Thanks, I guess there’s more burrata out there to try. π
That makes me sad too!!!
That makes two of us! π
Love this post β though sorry you were so sad π¦ Maybe they did make it themselves β and, if so, maybe give them time and go back in a few months β home made cheese is tricky to perfect!
Agree, it could have been homemade. In that case, if the temperature or timing is not right the cheese will come out either too soft or too chewy.
Then they shouldn’t serve it, lol!
They really shouldn’t called themselves Mozzeria if they can’t make proper cheese. π¦
devastating!
It was a travesty! Shame on them for claiming that was burrata!
the picture drew me in to read it but you are right that must have been a disappointment. The lake picture is beautiful!!
The plating was lovely, but the product was lame!
How disappointing π¦
Burrata is usually so amazing.
Yes is was and yes it is!
