With leeks, onions, fennel, creme fraiche, salsa verde. $16
Universal Cafe, San Francisco CA
Mmm, this was good. Very delcious and comforting food. I kinda wish the salmon was in bigger chunks but I understand that it was a hash. It was also very pretty with the salsa verde on the poached eggs.

Planter of scouring rush, rough horsetail or snake grass (Equisetum hyemale, Equisetaceae) in front of the restaurant.
i’m not sure which pic I like best. The food looks delecious but the planter is inventive and looks quite stunning.
In San Francisco, I personally think they over use horsetails. I think they’re nice but I appreciate the less common plants.
Don’t think they’ve discovered them decoratively here. Still only seen as a wild plant in boggy areas. They look really striking.
