Grass-fed beef with oyster escabeche, harissa, benne. $15
Bellota, San Francisco CA
I liked the cruda, but not the oyster. I thought it was a weird addition to this dish. The beef tasted great though with a wonderful texture.

Plato de lomo iberico. €16.45
Saffron, Barcelona SPAIN
I love Spanish cured meats! We went here for dinner the night that I arrived in Barcelona, and it was super cute and the food was delicious. The service was also extremely accommodating and attentive. I think we sat down at 10pm and pretty much closed the place down. Gosh, I love European dining!

Crisped, Kennebec potatoes, chipotle bravas salsa, smoky aioli. $10
Bellota, San Francisco CA
These weren’t my favorite bravas ever. They tasted good, but they were SO greasy! I’m not sure if these were twice-fried, but they were just sponges of oil. Yuck!

Creamy clam and sea urchin fritter, pickled ramp, seaweed powder. $15
Bellota, San Francisco CA
These may have been small, but they were wonderful! The interior was so creamy and delicious, and they were fried perfectly. I can’t say I’ve ever had a clam and sea urchin croqueta, but my goodness it was tasty! I could eat an entire tray of these perfect morsels.

Ugh, sorry that this pic is SO dark! Anyway, these croquetas were really good. They were a little salty, but I liked the texture and they were fried perfectly.

Truffle butter hollandaise, chorizo bits. Restaurant week dinner $65
Aatxe, San Francisco CA
This tortilla was fine, but it was the truffle butter hollandaise and chorizo bits on top that put it over the top. Mmm!

Irish style lager and Irish stout wort spun sorbet. Paired with SOMA coffee porter. Restaurant week dinner $40
Thirsty Bear, San Francisco CA
These sorbet were super bitter, especially the darker one which I could not enjoy. The lighter sorbet was bearable, but not by much. I like the coffee porter though.

Delicata squash, mahon cheese, potato migas. Restaurant week dinner $65
Aatxe, San Francisco CA
This wasn’t my favorite. I don’t the the mushrooms and delicata squash went well together. They had opposing flavors and textures that just didn’t vibe. Hmm…
