Flash fried organic spanish padron peppers with chunky sea salt. Tapa $10
Canela, San Francisco CA
Mmm, I LOVE padron peppers. They are readily available here at farmers’ markets and grocery stores and they’re super easy to prepare. I love cooking them at home, but I’ll still order them at restaurants because they’re that yummy!

I love Padron Peppers, too. This is actually something you can cook easily (if you can get the peppers — Ferry Terminal Mkt. is one source). Heat some olive oil in a pan (1-2 Tbs), get the pan hot, drop in the peppers, cook until blistered on most sides, turning occasionally, sprinkle with coarse sea salt, and serve. Goes well with a cold beer or (preferably) a good Albarino.
Thanks! I’ve bought some at some of my nearby farmers markets (Noe Valley and Castro) and prepared them. They taste amazing even at home too!
