Grilled chicken cooked in ginger, served with sweet chili sauce. $12
Escena Lounge & Grill, Palm Springs CA
This was probably the most basic and boring chicken lettuce wraps I’ve ever ordered. The chicken had that squishy texture that reminds me of the frozen pre-cooked variety found at grocery stores. Yuck!

Mt. San Jacinto hiking trail flanked by bush chinquapin (Chrysolepis sempervirens, Fagaceae).
Looks like my sort of trail. Lol.
Yeah, Mt. San Jacinto was beautiful!
Btw, are there any moderately priced restaurants you can recommend in London or Ipswich? I’m attending a wedding this summer. I’ll also be in Paris so my food budget is gonna be sadly low, hehe.
I’ve been thinking about you request and although I lived in London for 20 years, after 10 years away from it I’m very much out of touch. If I was going to stay there now I’d immediately look up Time Out listings that are generally very reliable, particularly on the ‘budget’ restaurants. London is really a collection of ‘villages’ so you need to look up where you’re going to be; http://www.timeout.com/london/restaurants
As you know, I’m sure, ‘preparation is everything’. lol.
(Ipswich is a closed book to me, but people rave about The Company Shed on the Esssex coast.

if you can get to it.)
I hope for the reputation of London that Vittle Monster misses out the tourist restaurants this time and finds some good food! Hope you have a great time, I look forward to the posts! π
