Pulled beef short rib and three sauteed shrimp, white cheddar grits and spicy tomato jus, garnished with chopped scallions. $13 ($6.50 for Sunday happy hour)
Hubbard Grille, Columbus OH
Mmm, I really enjoyed this! I think it’s the perfect share – not too big and absolutely delicious! I loved all the different flavors and textures. Everything was perfect! Ok, almost perfect. The shrimp were slightly overcooked, but who cares! This was definitely my favorite snack that we ordered.
With braised short rib, sunchokes, grilled romaine, bone marrow bordelaise. New Year four-course tasting menu $80
RN74, San Francisco
Wow, this was very large, rich, and all the components were filling and decadent. The only complaint was that the rib eye was ordered medium, but this was way rare! That’s a thick cut and the center was still cold and bloody. The short ribs was delicious as was the bone marrow. They should give you some bread to spread it on though otherwise you’re left spreading it on the beef which is was to rich. We used the house bread, but what if we had already finished it or we didn’t want any in the first place? That said, I still enjoyed the dish.
Thick cut shortribs with scarlet turnips, padron peppers and romesco sauce. $30
Bar Agricole, San Francisco
This was one of my favorite dishes at Bar Agricole. I guess you can’t go wrong with perfectly grilled, fatty shortribs, lol! It’s hard to see from the pic, but there was a lot of ribs on the plate. I actually couldn’t finish all of them, but not wanting them to go to waste, I had them boxed up (hehe). The padron peppers were SO yummy, but I’m biased since padron peppers are my favorite. The turnips were good, but some pieces were a little dry. The romesco sauce provided another wonderful flavor and went perfectly with the grilled beef. I would order this again in a quick second!
